Don't Work Harder...Work Smarter

Here's a great piece of advice from my friend Danielle for calculating your target heart rate.

Tip for Heart Rate Calculation.

Calculate your resting heart rate (RHR)
*count pulse for 10 seconds and multiply by 6

Calculate Target Heart Rate. Remember in order to fat burn, you need to increase the heart rate BUT stay in between the lower range and the higher range. Going over is counter productive you're NOT burning FAT!

Step 1: Age
Step 2: Max heart rate= 220- Age
Step 3: Resting heart rate(RHR)from pulse count
Step 4: MHR minus RHR= HRR (heart rate reserve)
Step 5: HRR X .65 + RHR = LOWER RANGE #
Step 6: HRR X .85 + RHR = HIGHER RANGE #

Your target heart rate is between #'s form step 5 and 6. Workout with your pulse in this range!
