But don't fret all of you "balanced diet" people reading this and shaking your tisk-tisk-tisk finger at me...the diet plan only removed starch carbs during the first week while I was acclimating. In a few days I begin the next phase, which allows for certain kinds of carbs (the not-yummy kind) to be had during certain meals of the day.
At any rate, I am eating 5 small meals a day of protein and veggies, with a fruit here and there.
It's been fine, but I was pretty hungry this weekend. I think it was my body wanting to fall into usual habits more than true hunger. It was hard not to eat popcorn with the family in front of the tv, or enjoy a frappuccino straight from our blender.
The workouts have been good and intense. The training with Jonathan continues and gets harder each session. Today we boxed. I loved it but was spent after throwing combinations. Jonathan is a martial arts trainer, so I was grateful to learn from him. After that we went back to the wonderful TRX straps. More squats, and other goodies that work the whole body. After the training was over, it was time for my post-training cardio. Today I tried the step mill. It's like a moving staircase that never lets you get to the top. After twenty minutes I concluded it wasn't my cup of tea. I much prefer the treadmill or ARC Trainer (like an elyptical).
So, overall I am happy with how this is going. I feel confident that I am making progress, and should have good results when the month is up. If I haven't lost at least 10 pounds, I'm going straight to the all-you-can-eat chinese buffet to drown my sorrows in brown sauce and fried rice!
