I will admit to eating very poorly this weekend. I probably had a dozen of these fabulous cookies my mother-in-law made. I feel slightly better about it because they were oatmeal! Now if they only would not have included chocolate chips.
As far as exercise, I walked. That's it folks. Walked. But, I did some significant walking. We walked around the development, which included some good hills. We walked around a big park, prior to walking around a nice art show. We also walked around an outdoor shopping outlet center. And I sprinted through the mall in search of a pair of boots! Granted - some of our walking was more like browsing, but we were out there moving. Instead of drinking beers at home on a lawn chair. Like lots of folks probably did this weekend.
And I'm not criticizing those who opted for a more relaxed holiday weekend. Every now and again, we need to rest, and give our bodies a break. The way I looked at it - my body deserved a little time off. I have been asking so much of it lately. And my knees were so grateful! In fact, they didn't hurt at all today, when I went full-throttle in kick-boxing class, or when I squatted with a weighted bar on my shoulders during Body Pump.
I feel great right now. Later, well, that's another story. For another blog post!
